Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup vodka , rum or gin
  • 1/8tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 32 oz bottles chilled club soda or seltzer (or reduce sugar and lime juice and use lemon-lime carbonated drink)
  • 10 mini candy canes

Directions:

  1. Make a simple syrup by boiling the water, adding the sugar and let it boil, stirring constantly, just til the sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let thicken and cool.
  2. Combine lime juice, alcohol and extract. Add simple syrup(to taste)
  3. Chill and add soda to each glass just before serving.
  4. Hang mini cane over each glass to use as a stirrer.
