Ingredients:

  • 2 1/8 cups vodka
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Wash the lemons well.
  2. Carefully remove the peel only, cutting away as much of the white pith as possible.
  3. Put the rind in a sterilized glass jar with a lid, and pour the vodka over top.
  4. Cover, and place in the sun for 10 days.
  5. After 10 days, prepare a sugar syrup with the sugar and water.
  6. Bring them to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. Set aside to cool.
  8. Filter the vodka and lemon peel, by pouring through cheesecloth.
  9. Mix with the syrup, and leave for about 10 days to mature.
  10. Place in the refrigerator or freezer before serving.
  11. This liqueur will keep for months.
