1. First add enough water to fill over half the stockpot.
2. Let this come to a boil over medium flame before lowering the flame to low for around 15 min.
3. You want to drain the liquid and rinse the lentils.
4. Now return the lentils back to pot.
5. Next you can add the onion, celery, cabbage, tomatoes, chicken, carrots, and garlic, to the pot.
6. Season well with salt, pepper, sugar, basil, thyme, and then the curry.
7. Finally, cook all of this for around two hours until it is tender!
