  • 1 Preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and sugar and mix thoroughly.
  • 3 Cut butter into dry mixture with a pastry blender until mixture resembles meal.
  • 4 Chill 10 minutes then add cranberries and mix well until cranberries are coated well with flour.
  • 5 Add buttermilk a little at a time mixing until all ingredients are moistened and forms dough.
  • 6 Gather into a ball and knead 15 times on a flour covered board or table.
  • 7 Roll out dough to 1” thickness then cut out scones with a floured heart shaped biscuit cutter.
  • 8 Place on an ungreased baking sheet close together but not touching.
  • 9 Brush tops with buttermilk and sprinkle with sugar then bake 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 10 Serve hot with orange marmalade.
