Cinnamon Griddle Scones

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp dy buttermilk solids
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp shortening

Directions:

  1. Preheat griddle over medium high heat
  2. Stir together flour, tartar, salt, cinnamon, sugar, soda ,buttermilk solids.
  3. Add water and stir until well combined.
  4. Turn batter out on to a well buttered surface, knead a few times.
  5. Pat into a circle about 6 1/2 inches in diameter. with a sharp knife, cut dough into 8 wedges
  6. Melt shortening on griddle. when shortening is hot, lower heat to medium and place sconeson griddle.
  7. Cook until one side is brown, turn and cook the other side.
  8. Test for doneness by splitting the scone, it should not be doughy....it should look like a biscuit.
