Chocolate Chip Cherry Walnut Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/3 cup margarine
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup walnuts
  • 1 cup dried cherries , plumped up in hot water for 20 min

Directions:

  1. Plump up dried cherries.
  2. Crust: Combine all ingredients, mixing until crumbly.
  3. Press into greased 9-inch square pan.
  4. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until light brown.
  5. Topping: Beat eggs, sugar, syrup and margarine together until blended.
  6. Stir in chips, nuts and drained cherries.
  7. Pour evenly over crust.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Cut into bars.
