Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 tbsp. spiced apple simple syrup or cranberry-orange simple syrup

Directions:

  1. Spiced Apple Simple Syrup
  2. Bring 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1 1/2 cups apple juice, and 1/8 tsp. apple pie spice to a boil in a saucepan. Cook 2 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and stir in 1/2 cup ice cubes; freeze 20 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 cups. Hands-on time: 10 min.
  3. Cranberry-Orange Simple Syrup
  4. Bring 2 cups sugar, 1 cup cranberries, 1 cup orange juice, and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Cook 2 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat, and pour through a wire-mesh strainer, pressing berries with back of a spoon. Discard solids. Stir in 1/2 cup ice cubes; freeze 20 minutes. Makes about 2 1/2 cups. Hands-on time: 10 min.
