butter flavor shortening (i used crisco), light brown sugar , packed, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, half-and-half (i used half and half) or 2 tbsp milk (i used half and half), quick oats (not instant ), use more (recipe calls for 1/3 cup more)
