  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Saute onion, celery seed, and garlic powder until onions are tender. Stir in potatoes, carrots, water, salt, pepper, and dill weed. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat. Cover, and simmer 20 minutes.
  2. Stir in salmon, milk, corn, and cheese. Cook gently until heated through but do not boil.
