Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Lightly grease and flour 9-by-13-inch pan.
  3. Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
  4. Pour half the batter into prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven.
  6. Melt caramels, milk and butter in the top of a double boiler over boiling water.
  7. Pour melted caramel mixture over cake, sprinkle with half of pecans and half of chocolate chips.
  8. Pour remaining cake batter over the top.
  9. Sprinkle remaining pecans and chocolate chips over the top of batter.
  10. Return to oven and finish baking 20 to 25 minutes.
  11. Serve cool or warm, not hot.
