Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups cornmeal
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp bacon drippings
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients, and mix well. Drop batter by 2 tablespoonfuls onto a hot, lightly greased griddle. Turn cakes when tops are bubbly and edges are browned. Serve immediately.
