a zulu chef named Musa came up with this recipe in Kwa-Zulu Natel there are similar versions in kenya and ethiopia.he reccommends that it be served with mealiepap which is a dish made of corn meal rosemary salt and thyme and olive oil it is eating with your hands or made like an oatmeal for breakfast it is rather bland tho. Ingredients:
1 -small head white cabbage
1 - large purple onion
1 - green bell pepper
2- 3 tablespoon sunflower oil
1-1/2 cups 12 ounce canned tomatoes chopped with juice reserved
1-tablespoon mild curry powder
salt and pepper
Directions:
1. slice or chop the cabbage, onion and bell pepper as prefered
2. heat the oil in a frying pan and saute the onion and bell pepper until they are soft and the onion is translucent.........
3. add the cabbage, cover, and cook until it begins to wilt
4. add all remaining ingredients and cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding a little water if necessary to prevent sticking.
5. taste and adjust the seasonings as necessary before serving it hot
