Zucchini-tomato Gratin

I adapted this one from the newsletter, which is aimed at people who have never or rarely cooked. It's easy enough for them, but tasty enough, and attractive enough, to serve to company.
Ingredients:
1 medium zucchini
2 medium tomatoes
2 ounces parmesan cheese
salt
pepper
Directions:
1. Slice zucchini and tomatoes about 1/4-inch thick. (I had 15 slices of each.)
2. Coat a casserole dish with cooking spray and make a single layer of zucchini and tomatoes, alternating them and overlapping the slices.
3. Spinkle with salt and pepper and the parmesan.
4. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
