Yummylicious Lemon Cake

This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Lake Estate in Greenville, Texas in 1984.
Ingredients:
1 package yellow cake mix
1 small box lemon gelatin
1 cup water
4 eggs
3/4 vegetable oil
juice of 2 lemons
2 cups powdered sugar
zest of 1 lemon
lemon slices
1 small container frozen whipped topping
Directions:
1. Combine cake mix and gelatin together in large bowl.
2. Add water and eggs beating thoroughly with mixer after each egg then stir in oil.
3. Pour into rectangular baking pan and bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
4. While cake is warm poke holes through to the bottom all over cake.
5. Mix lemon juice and powdered sugar together and spoon over cake.
6. Top with whipped topping.
7. Garnish with lemon zest and lemon slices.
