I can't remember where I came across this recipe but it is super yummy and easy to make! If you mix it with cornflakes it tastes just like the popular Honey Bunches of Oats cereal but much healthier and at a fraction of the cost!. It is also good with yogurt.
Ingredients:
6 cups rolld oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup raw wheat germ
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1/2 cup ground flax seeds
1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup chopped almonds
2/3 cup honey
2/3 cup canola oil
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
1. Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix honey, oil, water, and vanilla throughly and pour over the dry oat and nut mixture. Mix well coating the oat and nut mixture evenly. Spread onto two greased cookie sheets and bake at 300 for 40-60 minutes or untill it just starts to turn golden. Make sure to stir it a few times while baking. Do not over cook. Cool well and store in an airtight container.
