Yummy Corn Bread

This makes a great start to any meal instead of the usual bun or bread
Ingredients:
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
2 eggs beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 small can (approximately 8 ounces) cream-style corn
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tbsp chopped bell pepper (red and green both)
1 can chopped green chile peppers drained
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions:
1. Mix the first 6 ingredients in one bowl and set aside
2. Mix the rest in another bowl leaving the cheese until last
3. Mix the wet into the dry until the only lumps left are the peppers etc
4. Put into a 9 inch lightly greased pan and bake at 400 for approx 30 or until it springs back and is nicely browned
