This recipe is a great twist on the classic recipe for hamburgers, and they smell great on the grill. These burgers could also be made on the stove or on a small indoor grill. I got this recipe out of the local newspaper. My boyfriend loves hamburgers so this caught my eye. This recipe is so easy and dinner is ready in about 10 minutes. We were very pleased with the flavor and juiciness the burgers had. I'd call it the burger's sophisticated older brother! For a quick, inexpensive meal using staple ingredients, this is a nice change from a regular hamburger.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef or 1 lb turkey
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons organic dried basil
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 hamburger buns, split
mozzarella cheese (optional)
Directions:
1. Preheat the outdoor grill for high heat.
2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef/turkey, Worcestershire sauce, basil, garlic salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into 4 burger patties. Lightly oil the grill grate and cook burgers about 6 minutes, turning once, to an internal temperature of 160°F or to desired doneness.
3. If desired, top with mozzarella cheese. Serve on hamburger buns.
