Bird was called Yellowbird by her father, and he sung her the song of the same name by the Mills Brothers. Now here's a tasty drink from the Caribbean Islands of the same name. Drink with thoughts of laying in a hammock on a sandy beach... under a banana tree. NOTE: I went on a Carnival cruise in July 2009... the 2nd day drink special were these and they were sooo good! They made them using pineapple juice, so I've edited the recipe to use that in lieu of lemon juice. Definitely better!
Ingredients:
1 cup ice
4 ounces pineapple juice
1 ounce white rum (banana rum is best)
1/2 ounce grand marnier
1/2 ounce galliano
splash carbonated carbonated lemon-lime beverage
1/2 slice lemon, for garnish
Directions:
1. To a drink shaker, Mix the first 5 ingredients and shake well.
2. Strain (or pour) into a cocktail glass and if desired, top with a splash of soda. Garnish with lemon slice and serve.
