My grandmother used to make these when I was growing up. I had a hard time putting in the serving size because we would all eat more than our share ;) I guessed on the cooking time because I haven't made them in awhile, just watch them while they are baking. Read more ..
Ingredients:
2 pkgs yeast
1/2 cup lukewarm water
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp salt
1 cup water
1 cup milk
3/4 cup crisco
6 to 71/2 cups flour
Directions:
1. Dissolve yeast and water. Add sugar, eggs, salt, and water
2. Scald milk and add crisco to melt-cool. When cool add to yeast mixture
3. Add to mixture to make thick enough.
4. Cover and place in refrigerater overnight. Roll out and cut. Allow to rise in greased pan 1/2 hrs.
5. Bake at 425 till brown.
