A cold morning comfort food. Before you know it, it's all gone! *wink*
Ingredients:
2/3 cup oats -- steel cut
1/3 cup pearl barley
1/2 cup raisins, seedless -- organic if you can get some
1/3 cup dried fruit -- dates, or others
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups water
1 cup soy milk -- or oat milk, rice milk, your choice
dash maple syrup -- to taste
Directions:
1. Bring all ingredients except syrup to a boil in a saucepan.
2. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, then cover.
3. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes.
4. Serve and top with syrup, if desired.
