WINE DROP COOKIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Moody Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1990.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
4 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon powdered ginger
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 cup molasses
1 cup sour milk
3/4 cup raisins
3/4 cup powdered sugar
Directions:
1. Cream well the shortening, sugar and eggs with an electric mixer.
2. In medium bowl combine dry ingredients.
3. In another bowl combine milk and molasses.
4. Combine the mixtures and add flour and raisins.
5. Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
6. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes then while still warm sprinkle with powdered sugar.
