Whole Wheat Waffles

If my husband and daughter will eat it, its got to be good, if not great.
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups white whole wheat flour
1 cup cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt substitute
2 tablespoons sugar
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 large egg
4 large egg whites
3 cups low-fat milk
cooking spray
Directions:
1. Combine all of the dry ingredients in a large bowl and set aside. Combine all of the wet ingredients in a medium bowl. Pour the wet ingreidents into the dry ingredient bowl and whisk to combine. Cover the bowl and let the batter sit for 30 minutes. Spray the waffle iron with cooking spray close the cover and preheat. Laddle the batter into the waffle iron and bake, according to the waffle iron directions. Continue until all waffles have been baked. Recipe makes between 6-7 round waffles from my waffle iron.
