Waffle-Style French Toast

Ingredients:
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
8 slices day old challah (1-inch thick slices) or 8 french bread (1-inch thick slices)
Directions:
1. Preheat waffle iron and spray with cooking spray.
2. In a pie plate or other shallow pan, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, and salt together.
3. Dip bread slices in egg mixture until well soaked.
4. Cook slices in the waffle iron one at a time until lightly browne.
5. Serve with warm syrup, powdered sugar, and/or fresh fruit as garnish.
