Vidalia Onion Casserole

A Simple Casserole that is suited for either a Barbeque or a dinner party.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter
3 medium vidalia onions, sliced
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 cup shredded swiss cheese
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
2 teaspoons soy sauce
6 -8 slices french bread (1/2 inch thick)
6 -8 thin slices swiss cheese
Directions:
1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat.
2. Saute onions and mushrooms until tender.
3. Place in 12 x 7-1/2 x 2in baking dish.
4. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
5. Combine soup, milk and soy sauce and pour over cheese.
6. Top with bread and cheese slices.
7. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
8. Bake, loosely covered at 375 for 30 minutes.
9. Uncover and bake 15-20 minutes longer or until heated through.
10. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
