Vanilla Pear Butter

For a change of pace from using syrup, serve warm or chilled over pancakes, waffles, crepes or toast.
Ingredients:
1 (15 ounce) can canned pears
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Drain pears, reserving 1/2 cup syrup; combine pears and syrup in small saucepan along with vanilla extract. Simmer mixture gently for 15 minutes, or until pears are tender. Remove pan from heat. Using a fork or potato masher, mash pears.
