TWO BERRY CAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Greer Estate in Arlington Texas in 1987. Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix |
1 pint fresh blackberries reserve some |
1 pint fresh strawberries reserve some |
1 container cream cheese frosting |
Directions:
1. Mix cake mix according to box directions substituting water with milk.
2. Split mix into 2 bowls then slice strawberries into one and blackberries in the other.
3. Pour one bowl of mix into coated tube pan then pour remaining bowl of mix on top.
4. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
5. Cool completely then frosting with cream cheese frosting.
6. Sprinkle reserved berries over top and serve.
