Ingredients:
1 german chocolate cake mix
1 stick margarine, softened
1 1/2 c. water
1 lb. bag caramels
1/2 c. canola or veg. oil
1 can sweetened condensed milk, divided in half
Directions:
1. Combine cake mix, margarine, water, oil and 7 ounces sweetened condensed milk.
2. Mix well.
3. Pour half of the batter into a greased 13 x 9 inch baking dish.
4. Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
5. Melt and mix together caramels and the remaining 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk.
6. Spread over the baked layer.
7. Sprinkle generously with chopped pecans.
8. Cover with remaining cake batter.
9. Bake 25 to 35 minutes longer.
10. Frost with Turtle Cake Frosting.
