Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. For Crust: Preheat oven to 175°C.
  2. Line a 23x33 cm tin with foil.
  3. Cut the butter into chunks and melt in saucepan over gentle heat.
  4. Remove from heat, and stir in caster sugar and vanilla.
  5. Stir in sifted flour and salt.
  6. Press the dough in the bottom of the tin.
  7. Bake for 10 mins.
  8. Remove from oven and scatter the pecans over the crust.
  9. Bake for another 10 mins, until the crust is golden.
  10. For Topping: Melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar.
  11. Bring the mixture to the boil and boil for one minute.
  12. Por the hot butter mixture over the crust.
  13. Bake the crust in the oven for ten minutes.
  14. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Wait till chocolate chips have set again before cutting.
  15. Cut into bars. Can be stored in airtight container for 5 – 7 days.
