At about 30 Calories per ounce, this is a GREAT addition to any diet AND, it's healthy, too! Great in a sandwich or as a side dish or appetizer. Leave off ANY or all of the Vegetables if you like; because plain Tuna & Mayonnaise makes a good sandwich, but the Vegetables stretch the number of servings and helps to GREATLY lower the Calories per serving.
Ingredients:
26 oz. tuna in water
6 1/2 oz. water (from the tuna)
8 tbsp. mayonnaise
8 oz. bell pepper (finely chopped)
6 oz. celery (finely chopped)
6 oz. iceberg lettuce (finely chopped)
9 oz. sweet onion (finely chopped)
8 oz. cabbage (finely chopped)
4 1/2 oz. carrots (finely chopped)
16 2/5 oz. tomato (finely chopped)
1 tbsp. salt
4 oz. dill pickle (finely chopped)
Directions:
1. Place tuna in a LARGE size bowl. Mash with a large spoon to separate all the lumps and chunks until you get a nice smooth, fine grained texture.
2. Add the Mayonnaise and mix well together.
3. Add the vegetables and mix well.
4. Eat now or refrigerate for later.
5. If used in a Tuna Fish Sandwich, DON'T FORGET TO CALCULATE THE CALORIE COUNT OF THE BREAD! ENJOY!
