This is a very traditional variation to Hummous, that makes it almost a meal in itself. Pine nuts are browned in butter with finely minced Lamb or Beef. The combination is sprinkled over the top of a dish of Hummous in as thick a layer as you care to make. Read more . The recipe below makes about 1 1/4 cups. It can easily be doubled or tripled.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup pine nuts
2 tbls clarified butter
8 oz finely ground lamb or beef
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
fresh ground pepper to taste
Directions:
1. In a heavy skillet over low heat, fry Pine Nuts in Butter until evenly browned. Remove Pine Nuts. Increase heat to medium high. Brown Lamb well for about 10 minutes. Season with Salt, Pepper, and Cinnamon. Mix Lamb together well with Pine Nuts and sprinkle over one recipe of Hummous bi Tahini. (Posted)
