Toasted Seasoned French Bread For Appetizers

There are so many crackers and toasted breads in the store designed for appetizers, sometimes it's hard to chose. Save yourself the debate, and make your own. These are lightly seasoned and have a very light, very crispy texture. Read more . The fluffier and airier the bread is, the better this recipe turns out.
Ingredients:
1 loaf day-old fench bread or baguette (if you live somewhere you can get good puffy, airy, po-boy bread, use that)
olive oil
garlic powder
2 cookie sheets
Directions:
1. Cut the bread into 1/2 inch slices and lay out in a single layer on cookie sheets. (If using wider French bread, cut the slices in half to make smaller pieces.)
2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
3. Using a brush or oil mister, lightly coat both aides of the bread with olive oil. Do not saturate the bread, it just need to be a little damp.
4. Lightly sprinkle garlic powder on both sides of the bread.
5. Bake for 5 to 10 minutes, or until lightly browned,
6. Serve fresh, or place in an airtight container/bag overnight.
