One last hurrah before the end of summer - build a small fire in your backyard (oh yeah, that's probably illegal in most places, so find someplace better - I've even used my gas stovetop) and toast some marshmallows for these yummy sundaes. Read more . This is fun to do with the kids (but have lots of wet wipes ready!).
Ingredients:
1 bag large marshmallows
1 jar ice cream topping, flavor of your choice - hot fudge is my favorite
vanilla or chocolate ice cream
Directions:
1. String marshmallows on long kebob skewers or twigs.
2. Toast skewered marshmallows over an open fire until well browned.
3. Pour the jar of ice cream topping into a large bowl.
4. Push toasted marshmallows off of the skewer and into the syrup.
5. Use a spoon or spatula to quickly swirl the marshmallows into the syrup. Ladle swirled ice cream topping over bowls of ice cream...Enjoy!
6. If you want to go all out, have some additional toppers available, such as chopped nuts, sprinkles (every kid's favorite!), cherries, whipped cream, crushed candy bars - whatever you think sounds good.
