This dissapeared even more quickly than the chocolate desserts. Another dessert I made for my birthday party. All the flavors melded together so delightfully in this creamy dessert with hints of rum, expresso, , marscarpone, sweetness and chocolate. Read more . My tiramisu was placed in a pretty glass punch bowl. I decorated the top with fresh violets and rose petals at the base of the bowl
Ingredients:
9 eggs, fresh uncracked, clean
9 tbs sugar
2 lbs marscapone cheese ( no substitutes )
48 italian ladyfingers (saviordi ),approx
1 1/2 cups brewed expresso
2 tbs rum
bittersweet grated chocolate
strawberries, optional garnish
Directions:
1. Beat yolks with sugar until thick and lemon colored, then beat in the cheese until smooth.
2. Beat whites till soft beaks and gently fold and blend into cheese mixture
3. Combine cold expresso with rum
4. Dip ( do not soak! ) ladyfingers quickly into liquid and shake off excess.
5. Llayer in a glass bowl or pan, carefully spread on some cheese mixture, add some grated chhcolate and repeat layers ending with cheese mixture and lastly more grated chocolate.
6. Chill ovenight in coldest part of refrigerator.
7. Garnish with plain or chocolate dipped strawberries if desired.
8. Refrigerate uneaten portions
9. Will keep up to three days well chilled, after that the ladyfingers may get too soggy
10. But I guess, there won't be any left to worry about that :)
