This is the best recipe that I have found for party, appetizer type meatballs. A co-worker, Tina, always made these and was gracious enough to share the recipe with us.
Ingredients:
3 lbs frozen pre-cooked meatballs
2 cups ketchup
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons liquid smoke, hickory flavor
Directions:
1. Mix ketchup, brown sugar, onion, and liquid smoke in a small sauce pan. Heat and simmer for approximately 15 minutes. Pour the mixture over the meatballs. Depending on if the meatballs are frozen or defrosted, will affect how long the sauce will need to heat with the meatballs. You can use a crock pot or simmer on stove and serve.
