Three Onion Dip

I've forgotten which magazine I found this recipe in, but the dip is a step above the usual onion dip. The original recipe also called for 2 teaspoons of sherry vinegar. I thought that made the dip a little too tart for my tastes so it is not included in this recipe.
Ingredients:
1 large spanish onion, diced
1 large red onion, diced
1 large leek, diced
3 garlic cloves
3 tablespoons butter
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon tabasco sauce
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons chopped parsley
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
Directions:
1. Melt butter in large skillet.
2. Add onions, leeks and garlic.
3. Saute until caramelized.
4. Let cool.
5. Mix all ingredients together in bowl.
6. Serve at room temperature with crackers or breadsticks.
