If you can stand the heat and like a good spicy chile this is for you, if you want to tone it down to make it less hot eliminate the habanera and cut the jalapenos back to 1 or 2. This is a very hearty and very spicy chile that my catering partner and I concocted a few years back. Read more . Enjoy
Ingredients:
1 pound beef cut into small cubes
6 strips bacon
1 habanera pepper
6 red jalapenos
1 yellow red bell pepper
5 fresh tomatoes
2 cans pinto beans
1 large white onion
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 cloves garlic minced
2 bay leafs
Directions:
1. Brown beef bacon and onion together in large skillet until well browned and tender.
2. Drain well then return to skillet and add peppers and sauté 10 minutes longer.
3. Transfer meat and peppers to a large stockpot then add remaining ingredients.
4. Simmer 1 hour over medium heat then reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes more.
