Brewery meatballs packed with cheddar cheese and sauced with more beer. Football fan favorites in one bite.
Ingredients:
2 slices of wheat bread, diced
1 (12-ounce) can beer, split use 1/4 cup to soak bread
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup of finely minced onions
1 1/2 tablespoon parsley flakes
20 small cubes of monterey jack cheese or small cubes of cheddar
sauce
1 and 1/2 c of chili sauce
1 c beer or remainder of can from above
2 teaspoon cider vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1/3 c horseradish
Directions:
1. Soak the bread in some of the beer.
2. Sprinkle Salt, pepper, parsley,garlic powder on beer-soaked bread.
3. Combine ground beef with grated cheese, onions and the seasoned beer-soaked bread.
4. Mix well and form into small meatballs around a small cube of jack cheese..
5. Arrange meatballs in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet.
6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until cooked through.
7. While meatballs are baking, mix ingredients for sauce and heat gently over low
8. Put cooked meatballs in shallow disposable aluminum pan and top with sauce.
9. Stir gently.
10. Keep warm on warming tray.or shallow chafing dish.
