This is a nice bar recipe that combines 3 of my favourites - apples, oats and cinnamon. Great for apple season. :-) I bake them for my hubby's lunch and try not to eat too many myself.
Ingredients:
1 3/4 cup rolled oats - not instant
1 1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup of butter
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 cup brown sugar
5 peeled apples, sliced
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup white sugar
cinnamon to taste
Directions:
1. Combine first five ingredients and mix until crumbly.
2. Pat 1/4 of the crumb mixture in a greased 9 square pan.
3. Combine remaining ingredients.
4. Spread apple mixture over base.
5. Pat crumbs on top.
6. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.
