A very simple great tasting vege burger packed with ingredients that are very good for you. Since Kelloggs bought out Worthington Foods a good vege burger I have been seeking and I think this recipe is it. I just love em, couldn't believe how good they are and they look like meat burgers as well. They can be grilled and are just fantastic. Top with your favorites and Enjoy.
Ingredients:
1 lb xtra firm tofu, drained and patted dry with paper towel
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup wheat bran
1 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried basil and thyme
3 -4 tablespoons beef-like seasoning
1 tablespoon liquid, amino
2 -3 tablespoons pimentos, jar, canned, fresh
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a food procesor, no particular order to add ingredients.
2. Mix until it becomes a little solid, it should still be a little moist and pliable.
3. Scoop out some of the mixture and shape into 4 to 6 round patties 1/8 - 1/4 thick.
4. Spray pan with a litle vegetable oil and fry until golden brown.
5. This will make 6 to 8 patties which can be frozen either already fried or un-fried, if fried all you need to do is microwave them, if not then you will have to fry them before eating.
6. This is a very easy and super tasting vege burger.
