I'm not a great baker, but these come out excellent every time! They're crunchy at the edges but soft in the middle. This recipe makes a LOT of pretty big cookies which is great if you're making them to give away, but you might want to cut it down otherwise.
Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups unsalted butter (melted)
2 cups brown sugar (firmly packed)
1 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
3 eggs
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
2. Cream softened butter and both the brown and white sugar until well blended, then beat in the vanilla and eggs.
3. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt in one bowl and then mix this to the wet ingredients.
4. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
5. Drop about 1/4 of a cup of dough onto greased cookie sheets about 3 inches apart.
6. Bake for about 15 to 18 minutes or until they start to look brown at the bottom, then let them sit for a few minutes before switching them to a wire rack to cool.
