Ingredients:
1 broiler-fryer chicken, 2-3 lbs
2/3 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
4 tablespoons sherry wine
1 teaspoon msg (optional)
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 slice fresh ginger, minced
Directions:
1. Cut up chicken into serving pieces. Combine all other ingredients and marinate chicken for 4-5 hours or overnight. Broil chicken, basting 2 times on each side and turning once. Variation: 1 teaspoons grated orange peel can be added or used instead of ginger.
