This is meatless however you would never know it, the flavor is intense, bold and spicy. The texture is just like meat.
Ingredients:
salsa
2 medium tomatoes diced
1 red bell pepper diced
1 medium onion diced
3 green onions sliced thin
1 can of black olives diced
1 cup of frozen corn
2 pickled hot red finger peppers diced
1 teaspoon of dried chipotle chili pepper
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon of lemon pepper
1 tablespoon of fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon of fresh parsley
masa dough
3/4 -1 cup warm water
3/4 cup sunflower oil
2 cups masa harina
1 teaspoon chipotle chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
2 teaspoons sea salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 cups warm water
midland harvest burger mix, or beef style crumbles with
1 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon sea salt
habenero chipotal bar-b q- sauce
* optional spanish cheese for topping
Directions:
1. Boil enough water to cove a package of corn husk and soak for 2 hours,pat dry.
2. In the mean time prepare the salsa by combining all the Salsa ingredients and set aside.
3. Next prepare the soy 7 hamburger mix ( it is meatless) according to directions.
4. Combine Meat mixture with 1 1/2 cups of the Salsa set aside.
5. PREPARE MASA HARINA
6. Boil 3/4 cups of water and mix into Masa harina add spices and oil and blend well set aside
7. Fill Husk ACCORDING TO INSTRUCTIONS ON PACKAGE
8. Steam tamales for 90 minutes.
9. Remove husk of 2 tamales and place onto a plate add Habenero
10. Dress with Chipotle Bar-b-q-sauce and some fresh cilantro leaves.
11. * Top with Spanish cheese
