If you like spicy-flavored pecans, know that making your own is really simple to do. With three or four ingredients, you can make this recipe in a few minutes. These nuts are great for parties and family events. Read more . They make great gifts when placed in holiday tins or jars. You can even chop them up and roll homemade truffles in them or sprinkle them in cream cheese and make a great cheeseball appetizer!
Ingredients:
4 cups of pecans (you can cut the recipe in half)
1/2 stick of regular butter, melted
5-8 drops of tabasco sauce (or hot sauce of your choice)
1/2 tsp. salt
*optional
garlic salt, bbq sauce, lime juice, lemon juice (all used very sparingly)
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2. Mix pecans and butter and salt in a bowl.
3. Place this mixture on a baking sheet covered in foil and bake for 15 minutes OR until lightly browned. (By the time you smell smell them cooking, they are usually done.)
4. Remove from oven and let cool.
5. **If you want to make these really spicy, add some Habanero Hot sauce instead of the regular Tabasco sauce.
