This recipe is from “Sylvia’s Soul Food” by Sylvia Woods. It’s a great salad to bring to potlucks, picnics and barbeques
Ingredients:
2 cups hellmann’s mayonnaise
1 cup sweet pickle relish
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 lbs. cooked smoked boneless ham, finely diced (about 6 cups)
1 medium onion, finely diced (about 1/2 cup)
1 small green bell pepper, cored, seeded and finely diced (about 1 cup)
2 stalks celery, finely diced (about 1 cup)
Directions:
1. Stir the mayonnaise, relish, salt and pepper in a large mixing bowl until blended.
2. Add remaining ingredients and toss until coated.
3. Store salad, covered, in the refrigerator
