Sauerkraut!! Yes, for all the sauerkraut haters out there, this recipe will convert you! These chops come out falling off the bone with just the right amount of sour from the kraut and sweet from the apples and sugar. So good. This was my dad's creation, he loves just throwing stuff together and it always comes out good.
Ingredients:
6 pork chops (bone in)
2 -3 apples
1 (14 ounce) can sauerkraut
1 cup light brown sugar
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Squueze out as much juice as possible from sauerkraut. Slice apples (with peel) into 1/4 inch slices.
3. Place 6 aluminum foil squares on the counter and place a pork chop in each one. Top with sauerkraut, brown sugar, and finally the apples. Seal foil squares completely.
4. Place packets in a 9X13 pan and add just a little water to the bottom of pan.
5. Bake for at least an hour but the longer the better and more tender. Enjoy!
