Traditional warm sweet soup served as a dessert in formal Chinese dinners.
Ingredients:
8oz(1-1/2 cups) dried chinese red beans(adzuki) available in asian markets
1 tablespoon rice
3 pieces of dried tangerine peel
3/4 cup brown sugar(or) rock sugar available in asian markets
Directions:
1. In a large pot,bring 10 cups water to boil.
2. Add red beans and remove from heat.Let soak 1 hour.
3. Add Rice and tangerine peel to beans.
4. Bring to a boil,reduce heat to low,cover,and simmer until beans break up,about 2 hours.
5. Add sugar,stir to dissolve, and serve hot or cold.
