Ingredients:
5 medium-size cooking apples
3 tablespoons slivered almonds, divided
1 (16-ounce) can sweet potatoes, drained and mashed
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt

2. Place each apple in a 7-inch square of aluminum foil.
3. Stir together chopped apple pulp, 2 tablespoons almonds, sweet potato, and next 5 ingredients. Spoon filling evenly into apples; top with remaining 1 tablespoon almonds. Pull foil up around sides of apples, and place apples in an 11- x 7-inch baking dish.
4. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until tender.
