Sweet Potato Biscuits

I usually serve them with fried chicken. A little piece of hot buttered heaven.
Ingredients:
2 cups self rising flour
1/4 cup pack brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
7 tablespoons cold butter-divided
3 tablespoons shortening
1 cup cooked mashed sweet potatoes
1/3 cup milk
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
2. In a large mixing bowl,combine flour,brown sugar,cinnamon,and ginger.
3. Cut in 4 tablespoons butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. In another bowl,combine sweet potatoes and milk.
5. Stir into crumb mixture just until combined.
6. Turn onto floured surface and knead 8-10 times.
7. Roll out to 1/2 thickness and cut with a 2- 2 1/2 biscuit cutter.
8. Place on ungreased baking sheets.
9. Melt remaining butter and brush over biscuits.
10. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
11. Serve hot with additional butter and honey.
