Sweet Lentil Stew (East Africa)

This is from Best of Regional African Cooking . I haven't made it yet.

Ingredients:

1 cup lentils

1 cup coconut milk

1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

1 teaspoon sugar

1 pinch salt

Directions:

1. Cook lentils as directed by pkg until soft. Drain.
2. Combine lentils and everything else. Stir well. Bring to a boil. Simmer, uncovered, until liquid thickens.
