SWEET CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES DATED 1966 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Colvin Estate in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1989.
Ingredients:
4 ounces german sweet chocolate
1/4 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup chopped pecans
4 ounces cream cheese softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon all purpose flour
Directions:
1. Melt chocolate and butter in double boiler until melted then stir sugar into melted chocolate.
2. Stir in eggs and vanilla until completely mixed then mix in flour until blended and stir in nuts.
3. Spread in square pan then in same bowl mix cream cheese, sugar, egg and flour until smooth.
4. Spoon over brownie mixture and swirl with knife to marbleize.
5. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes then cool in pan and cut into squares.
